Fireflies.ai transcripts as an idea source

Fireflies.ai records and transcribes your meetings. Once connected, Sayweek checks new transcripts every day and finds 1–3 post-worthy insights in each: a lesson, a surprising moment, a question from a client.

Before you start

You need your own Fireflies account and its API key. Sayweek stores the key encrypted and only uses it to read. Owners and editors can connect and configure it, only owners can disconnect it; viewers can't change it.

Connect

1. 1In Fireflies, open app.fireflies.ai → Settings → Developer settings and copy the API key.
2. 2Open Settings → All integrations.
3. 3Click the Fireflies.ai card – its panel opens on the right (at the bottom on a phone).
4. 4Paste the key into the Fireflies.ai API key field.
5. 5Click Save key. If the key is valid, your account appears and the card shows Connected.

What Sayweek reads

• Once a day (after 6 am home time) it looks at the meetings of the last 3 days; Sync now looks at the last 7 days. One run handles at most 8 meetings.
• The transcript is only read in memory and never stored. Before anything goes to Claude, names, companies, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are masked, speakers become “A”, “B”, and sentences about prices, contracts, health or legal matters are left out.
• Meetings marked private or confidential – or with titles such as “1:1”, “interview”, “confidential” – are not even opened.
• Each meeting gives 1–3 ideas on Ideas → From mail & calendar, with “meeting” as the source. The same meeting never gives ideas twice.

What you can set

After connecting, the connection's card decides which meetings are used. Save applies your changes.

• Which meetings: Only the ones I hosted (default) or Every meeting I was in.
• At least this many minutes: shorter meetings are skipped (15 by default).
• Skip when the title contains (comma separated): e.g. “internal, board”.
• Skip when a participant is from: e.g. the domain of a sensitive client.
• Brand: with more than one brand you can fix which brand gets the ideas – by default Any brand (Claude picks).

Disconnect

1. 1Open Settings → All integrations.
2. 2Click the Fireflies.ai card – its panel opens on the right (at the bottom on a phone).
3. 3In the connection's row, click Disconnect (owners only).
4. 4Confirm the question. Ideas already created stay. If you don't use the key anywhere else, you can also delete it in Fireflies.
