Google Meet transcripts as an idea source
Coming soonThis feature is coming soon – this guide shows how it will work.
With a separate Google permission, Sayweek turns your Google Meet transcripts into anonymised post ideas.
Updated:
If your Google Meet calls are transcribed, Sayweek looks for post ideas in the transcripts. Connecting asks for a separate Google permission that only covers reading Meet transcripts – independent of any Gmail or calendar access you gave.
Before you start
- Meet transcripts need a Google Workspace edition that includes transcription (e.g. Business Standard or higher), and transcription has to be switched on in the call.
- Sayweek only sees the transcripts of your own meetings.
- Owners and editors can connect and configure it, only owners can disconnect it; viewers can't change it.
Connect
- Open Settings → All integrations.
- Click the Google Meet card – its panel opens on the right (at the bottom on a phone).
- Click + Connect Google Meet.
- Choose your Google account.
- On Google's consent page, tick reading Meet transcripts and continue. Without the tick, Sayweek doesn't save the connection.

What Sayweek reads
- Once a day (after 6 am home time) it looks at the meetings of the last 3 days; Sync now looks at the last 7 days. One run handles at most 8 meetings.
- The transcript is only read in memory and never stored. Before anything goes to Claude, names, companies, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are masked, speakers become “A”, “B”, and sentences about prices, contracts, health or legal matters are left out.
- Meetings marked private are skipped; title words can't filter here, because Meet doesn't share the meeting title.
- Each meeting gives 1–3 ideas on Ideas → From mail & calendar, with “meeting” as the source. The same meeting never gives ideas twice.
What you can set
After connecting, the connection's card decides which meetings are used. Save applies your changes.
- Which meetings: Only the ones I hosted (default) or Every meeting I was in. Google Meet only gives the transcripts of your own meetings.
- At least this many minutes: shorter meetings are skipped (15 by default).
- Skip when a participant is from: e.g. the domain of a sensitive client.
- Brand: with more than one brand you can fix which brand gets the ideas – by default Any brand (Claude picks).
Disconnect
- Open Settings → All integrations.
- Click the Google Meet card – its panel opens on the right (at the bottom on a phone).
- In the connection's row, click Disconnect (owners only).
- Confirm the question. Ideas already created stay. You can also remove Sayweek's access in your Google Account's security settings.
How do I check that it works?
In the card's panel, click Test connection: it fetches the list of the last week's meetings without reading any transcript. Sync now asks for ideas right away and shows how many meetings gave how many ideas.
