Switching from Postiz to a direct connection
Once a network is connected directly too, you can switch a channel that posts through Postiz – and its already scheduled posts – to direct in one go.
Updated:
Connect a channel
- Settings → Brands & channels: in step 1, “+ Connect account” shows which accounts you can connect directly (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, …).
- In step 2, open the brand with its arrow to see its channels.
- The “Channel for …” tile adds a new channel to the brand: platform, account and posting days.
Sayweek can post to many networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and others) directly, without Postiz. If one of your channels has posted through Postiz so far, you can switch it to direct and keep its name, schedule, rules and posts.
1. Switch the channel
- Open Settings → Brands & channels and connect the account directly with + Connect account.
- Back in Sayweek, in the What should we do with the new account? dialog, choose Switch the existing channel to direct (with several channels, Switch existing channels to direct) and, if asked, pick which channel gets the account.
- Leave Send the … already scheduled post(s) directly too ticked if you want to move the posts already scheduled in Postiz as well.
- Click Switch to direct.
From then on the channel posts directly – when a channel has both a direct and a Postiz route, direct always wins. The Postiz link stays too, until you switch the Postiz account off, so there's no duplicate channel.
2. Posts already scheduled in Postiz
Anything still scheduled in Postiz goes out through Postiz until you switch it. You can do that in three places:
- On the channel's Edit → Publishing tab, a banner shows how many posts are still in Postiz; Switch to direct (…) moves them all.
- On the weekly plan cards, Switch to direct next to the Scheduled in Postiz label switches one post.
- In the post editor, the Switch to direct button under the This post is still scheduled in Postiz notice.
After you confirm, Sayweek deletes the post from Postiz and sends it directly at the same time. The text, image and approval stay, and nothing is published right away. Moved posts carry the From Postiz note.
When does a post stay on Postiz?
- When it's due within 10 minutes – it then goes out from Postiz.
- When it has several images in Postiz.
- When it couldn't go out directly as it is (for example something the direct route requires is missing) – the message says why.
- When the channel isn't direct yet, the post isn't approved, or it has already gone out.
