Apple Notes
A ready-made Shortcuts shortcut (“Sayweek idea”) sends a note from the Share menu straight to your ideas box – on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Updated:
If you jot down ideas in Apple Notes, a ready-made shortcut (“Sayweek idea”) sends them to your ideas box from the Share menu with one tap. The note itself stays unchanged in Notes.
Set it up
- Open Settings → All integrations and click the Apple Notes card.
- Click Create shortcut key. Sayweek shows the key only once – copy it.
- Click Add the shortcut: the ready-made shortcut (an iCloud link) opens in the Shortcuts app. Add it and paste the key when it asks.
If the ready-made shortcut isn't available yet
If the server owner hasn't published the link yet, the panel shows you how to build it yourself in the Shortcuts app:
- Receive Text from Share Sheet.
- Get Contents of URL: POST to
/api/device/inboxat your Sayweek address, with the headerAuthorization: Bearer <key>and a JSON body:text= Shortcut Input,source=apple-notes. - Show Notification – so you can see the idea has arrived.
Use it
- In the Notes app, open a note (or select part of it).
- Tap Share.
- Choose Sayweek idea – a few seconds later the text is in your ideas box.
What Sayweek can and can't do
- The note's text goes to your ideas box; your client names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are masked before it's stored.
- Sayweek doesn't read your notes: it only gets what you share with it, and it never changes the note.
- The key can only add ideas – it can't see or do anything else in your account.
- The key expires after 180 days (or after 90 days without use). Then create a new one and paste it into the shortcut.
Revoke
- Open Settings → Apple: iCloud and iPhone → Connected devices.
- In the “Apple Notes (Shortcuts)” row, click Revoke – the shortcut stops working immediately. You can also delete the shortcut itself in the Shortcuts app.
