Approve from Slack and Teams
Coming soonThis feature is coming soon – this guide shows how it will work.
Posts waiting for approval show up as cards in your team channel – approve with one click or request changes with a note.
Updated:
If your team lives in Slack or Microsoft Teams, approving doesn't have to be a separate step. Sayweek sends the posts waiting for approval to the channel you pick, and you decide right there.
- Open Settings → Integrations and pick the Slack or Microsoft Teams card.
- Slack: if you haven't yet, add the Sayweek app under Ideas from a channel. Teams: switch on the Teams notifications (Workflows webhook).
- Under Approve from chat, for Slack pick the channel and click Switch on; for Teams tick Approve from chat.
- Don't want to wait for the next one? Click Send the waiting drafts now.
What shows up in the channel?
- Approve – the post goes through exactly the same checks as in the app. If something is missing (e.g. an image, an answer to a question, a taken day), we explain in the thread why it can't go out yet.
- Request changes – describe what should change in a small window; the note is added to the post and the author is notified.
- Open – the post in the Sayweek editor.
Requests go out by themselves when someone sends a post for approval and with the day-before reminder. Each post shows up once per channel.
Who can approve from chat?
Only people whose chat account is linked to their Sayweek account and whose role allows approving. On the first click we send a one-time link (in Slack only you see it): open it while signed in and confirm. In Slack we offer it right away when you use the same e-mail address.
Teams: buttons and commands
The Teams card's buttons open a short Sayweek page where you approve with your own sign-in. If the outgoing webhook is connected too, a command works in the channel: @Sayweek approve <code> or @Sayweek changes <code> <note>. The card shows the code; @Sayweek help lists the commands.
