Boost a post as an ad
Coming soonThis feature is coming soon – this guide shows how it will work.
Turn your best post into a paid ad on Facebook, Instagram or your LinkedIn Page in one click – nothing is spent without your approval.
Updated:
On the Ads page you can boost the posts that perform best according to your statistics as paid ads. The post itself doesn't change: the network shows the existing post to more people. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn Page posts published directly can be boosted (stories can't).
Boosting step by step
- Open the Ads page, or click Boost on a post in Analytics.
- Choose the ad account. Only active accounts can be chosen; the currency is the account's.
- Choose the goal: More reactions, Reach more people or Visitors to your website.
- Choose an audience (for example Professionals (25–54)), or set the countries and age under Custom.
- Enter the daily budget and the number of days. At most in total shows the most the boost can spend overall.
- Click Continue to approval.
Approval: nothing starts without it
- The approval screen shows the maximum spend in large type, with the account, goal, audience and budget below it.
- Only the owner can approve: they tick that they approve the amount shown, and then they can start it.
- If an editor prepares it, the boost stays a draft and the owner approves it on the Ads page.
- We also set the maximum as the upper limit on the network, so the boost can't spend more even if Sayweek can't reach the network.
- Before it starts, Meta or LinkedIn reviews the ad as well – usually a few hours.
Monthly budget
The owner sets a monthly ad budget. All boosts together can't go over it in a calendar month: until it's set, no boost can be approved, and if a boost would go over it, Sayweek won't start it. If the month's spend reaches the budget, we pause every running boost.
Pausing, stopping and results
- Pause: any editor can pause it – spending stops right away. Only the owner can resume it.
- Stop: ends the boost for good; it can't be resumed afterwards.
- We refresh the results every hour: amount spent, reach, impressions, clicks. Use Refresh results to get them right away.
- If a boost reaches its own budget, we pause it and send a push notification; at the end you get a summary.
Connecting
For Facebook and Instagram we use your existing Facebook connection: reconnect it under Settings → Brands & channels and accept the ads permission. For LinkedIn Page ads the owner connects LinkedIn Ads on the Ads page. Billing runs through your own ad account, directly with Meta or LinkedIn – Sayweek never handles money.
