Crisis brake: pausing posts during a major event

When something tragic or extraordinary happens in your country, we tell you – and one click pauses your upbeat and promotional posts for 24–72 hours.

Updated:

On a day of national tragedy, a cheerful sales post lands badly. Sayweek watches the public news sources of your brands' countries, and when several sources agree on a serious event, it tells you – the decision is yours.

  1. You get a notification, and a red bar appears at the top of the app. Click Review – or open the Watch page.
  2. In the Crisis brake section you see the event, its sources and your scheduled posts for the next 72 hours. The upbeat or promotional ones are preselected – change the selection any time.
  3. Pick how long to pause (24 hours, 48 hours or 72 hours) and click the pause button.
  4. When the pause ends, the posts go out again by themselves. You can also resume earlier with Resume now.

How do we recognise an event?

  • Per country: Google News top stories and the RSS feeds of a few national news sites – public headlines only, we don't read articles.
  • Only a story told by at least three different sources counts, with crisis words in several of the headlines.
  • The AI then rates from the headlines how serious the event is nationally; we only alert about the most serious ones.
What happens to a post whose time came during the pause?

It doesn't go out late by itself. After resuming, the Watch page and the notification tell you how many there are – give them a new time in the calendar.
