Cross-posting: one post on several channels

With a channel group, a post written for one channel also appears on the others, adapted to each one's rules – with its own checks and statistics.

Updated:

If you want the same post in several places – for example on Instagram, Facebook and Threads, or on your LinkedIn profile and your company page – you don't have to write it for each one. In a channel group, a post written for one channel also appears on the others.

Setting up a group

  1. Open Settings → Brands & channels and find Cross-posting (channel groups).
  2. Click + New group and pick the brand.
  3. Tick at least two channels. The one with the star is the Lead channel: the weekly plan is written for it, the others get the same post.
  4. Under Timing choose whether they go out at once or a few minutes apart.
  5. Click Save.

What happens to the posts?

  • As soon as the post has text, a linked copy is created on each of the group's other channels, for the same day and time (or with the stagger you set).
  • Every copy fits its own channel: over the channel's limit it is shortened at a sentence end; the number of hashtags follows the channel's habit (none on Google Business Profile); on directly connected Bluesky and Threads a longer text goes out as a thread; on Instagram the image is cropped to an allowed ratio.
  • In the weekly plan and the calendar, the cross-post is one card with small icons of the other channels and a coloured status dot.

Switching channels on and off for one post

In the post editor, the Cross-posting card shows where else it goes out (Also posts to). One switch per channel takes it out of this post – other posts still follow the group. You also see each copy's status, its length, and anything that stops it.

Editing and keeping manual changes

When you change the lead post, the copies follow: the text, the time, the questions to check and the image. If you rewrite a copy's text by hand (or let Claude do it with Rewrite for this channel (AI)), that text is kept, and later changes to the lead post no longer overwrite it. To make it follow the lead post again, press Follow the lead post again.

Approval and failures

The lead post's Approve and schedule button approves the copies too. Every channel is checked on its own (image, length, connected account, one post a day…), and each goes out on its own channel in its own way. If something is missing on one channel or sending fails there, only that channel is left out – the others go out, and you see the problem on that copy.

Revoking and deleting

Revoking the lead post also revokes the copies that haven't gone out yet. Deleting the lead post deletes the copies that haven't been sent; copies that are already out stay. If a channel already has its own post that day, no copy goes there, so nothing goes out twice.
