Devices and sessions, sign out everywhere
See which browsers and apps are signed in, sign out a lost phone, and what “Sign out everywhere” does.
Updated:
The Devices & sessions section of Account & security shows where you're signed in: the current browser and the linked apps (iPhone, Android). You can sign out a single device here, or all of them at once.
How sessions work
- In a browser, a sign-in is valid for 30 days; after that you sign in again.
- The app (Face ID, fingerprint, widget, Share menu) uses a device key. The server only stores the key's fingerprint.
- A device key expires 180 days after it was issued, or after 90 days without use. It renews itself at Face ID sign-in; the list shows the expiry date.
Sign out one device
- Open Settings → Account & security.
- Expand Devices & sessions.
- In the device's row, click Sign out and confirm.
The app loses access immediately and Face ID sign-in stops working there. The same list is also on Apple: iCloud and iPhone under Connected devices (button Revoke). To sign out of this browser, use Sign out in the This browser row.
Sign out everywhere
Sign out everywhere signs out every browser and app (Face ID, widget, Share) immediately – including this one. The apps then need to be linked again. The same happens when you set a new password through the e-mail reset link.
