Image alt text
AI writes a short description of every image in the post's language for followers who are blind or have low vision; edit it, and we send it with the image.
Updated:
Alt text is a short image description: screen readers read it aloud to followers who are blind or have low vision, and search engines use it to understand the image. Sayweek looks at the image and writes it for you – in the post's language.
- Open a post with an image and scroll to the Alt text card.
- Click Write with AI – with several images, each one gets its own description.
- Read it and change it if needed. After Save the text is yours: AI won't overwrite it later.
Where does it go?
- When published directly, images on LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, Pinterest, Instagram (feed images) and Facebook Pages go out with their alt text.
- Google Business Profile, TikTok, YouTube and posts sent through Postiz don't take alt text – the card tells you so.
Fill them in at once
When scheduled posts have images without alt text, the Week page shows a bar with Fill in with AI: one click fills in up to 12 posts. For drafts, Sayweek also writes it every hour so you see it when you approve; approved posts are only touched when you ask.
Why is a description sometimes less precise?
If the image has already been handed to Postiz, or it's in a format the AI can't see (such as HEIC), the description is written from the post's image brief. Give those a look.
