Editing a post

The parts of the post editor: text, image, schedule, preview, quality checks, versions, provenance and reuse.

Updated:

You open the post editor with the Edit button on a post card in the weekly plan or the calendar. It shows the text, the image, the schedule, the preview and everything worth checking before you approve, all in one place.

The post editor: text and image on the left, preview, schedule and approval on the right

What's in the editor

  • Text (Caption on Instagram and TikTok, Title and description on YouTube) with a character counter and the hashtags. For longer texts a Readability: line appears, on LinkedIn also Opening line – pick one (it decides whether people click).
  • Image (on video channels Video, Video or image or Image / video) – see Images and video.
  • Schedule: Day (local) and Time (local) with a rating; if there's a better time, Use it takes it over.
  • Preview: how the post will look on the channel.
  • More settings: Idea / topic and – where the channel supports it – First comment.

Editing and saving

  1. Change the text or the hashtags.
  2. Click Save; in the Unsaved changes bar, Discard goes back to the saved version.
  3. For a new version, pick a suggestion under Regenerate (e.g. shorter, different punchline) or type Your own instruction (optional).
  4. Click the Regenerate button – it overwrites the text, the hashtags and the open questions.

Quality checks

The header of the Approval card shows Ready to approve or the number of blockers. Red ● lines are blockers (for example empty text, too long, a banned word, a time in the past, Instagram without an image, no publishing route) – you can't approve until they're fixed. Yellow ▲ lines are warnings (for example a public holiday, too many hashtags, hard to read, a client name, a similar post, the wrong aspect ratio – where ✂ Crop to 4:5 helps). The To check list holds Claude's open questions: tick them one by one or with ✓ Check all, and add your own with Add. Ticks are saved right away.

Versions

  1. Expand Versions below the editor (it shows once there are at least two versions).
  2. Show displays a version's text; you also see its time and source (Claude, edit, client, restore).
  3. Click Restore and confirm – the current text is also kept in the version history.

Provenance and reuse

Provenance (AI transparency) shows how much the AI wrote, how much a person changed, which model was used, who edited and who approved. No prompts are stored. Details: Compliance and AI transparency.

For a published post, the Reuse section lets you switch on Evergreen – a fresh version to the waiting list every 90 days, or ask for one right away with ↻ Fresh version now. For a post on a LinkedIn company page or Facebook, pick your colleagues' LinkedIn channels under Colleague versions, and Write versions drafts one in each colleague's own voice – see Team voice.
