Multi-step approval chains
Set who has to approve a post and in which order – with deadlines and escalation. The post goes out only after the final step.
Updated:
When several people see a post before it goes out – say, a legal colleague, a manager and finally the client – the approval chain follows exactly that order. Everyone is notified when it's their turn, and the post is scheduled only after the final step.
- Open Settings → Client approval and find the Approval chain section.
- Click Start from a template: legal → manager → client, or choose Empty chain.
- For each step, enter its name and Who approves? – any owner, any editor, one specific person or the client on the approval link.
- If needed, set a time in Deadline and choose who else can decide once it passes.
- Under Order, choose One after another or All at once, then click Save.
How does a post move through it?
- The first click on Approve and schedule submits the post: the approvers of the first step get a push notification and an e-mail.
- Everyone approves their own step – in the app, on the post's Approval chain card, from the phone or from the Slack / Teams channel.
- The client decides their step on the approval link; once the final step is done, the post is scheduled with all the usual checks.
- If someone requests changes, the round ends; after fixing it you submit again and the steps start over.
Deadlines, reminders, escalation
For a step with a deadline we send a reminder before it passes (at most 24 hours before). Once it passes, the person you chose – or, if none, the owners – can decide the step too. All of this shows in the post's history.
