Language variants: one post in Hungarian, English and German

Turn one post into culturally adapted versions in your other languages – not a literal translation – on the channels that speak them, each waiting for its own approval.

Updated:

If you post in more than one language (say, with a Hungarian and a German brand), you don't have to reinvent a post that worked. In the post editor, the Language variants card makes versions of it in your other languages.

  1. Open the post. The Language variants card lists, per language, the channels whose brand writes in that language.
  2. Tick the channels that should get a variant (up to 4 at once).
  3. Click Create variant. Sayweek puts it on the same day and time if that slot is free, otherwise on the channel's next free slot.
  4. Each variant is its own draft: review it, edit it and approve it – nothing goes out by itself.

How is it different from a translation?

  • Idioms are replaced with the target language's own expressions instead of being translated word for word.
  • Examples and references become familiar to the reader – facts, numbers and claims stay the same. If a swap would need a new fact, you get a check question.
  • Formality fits the language: German uses the formal “Sie” by default, Hungarian and English follow your brand's voice.
  • The target brand's rules apply: its banned words, its voice and its regulated-industry safety net.
Why don't I see a German channel?

A variant can only go to a channel whose brand writes in that language. Set a brand's language under Settings → Brands & channels.
